Steven took his  first Bikam yoga class in Bellingham Washington in the fall of 2002. " The experience was incredible, I knew I was home."   He was living in Spokane Washington at the time and the closest studio was three hours away. Since he was determined to pursue the study of Hatha yoga with the Bikram series he purchased Bikram's book and audio cassette, and returned home. His only choice was to build a small studio from a room in the basement of his father's home.  "It was very challenging to get the room warm enough. I wore three layers of thermal clothing and used space heaters to retain my body heat."  Taking classes whenever possible in studios in Bellingham, Seattle and Portland  he was able to refine his practice to the point that he was recommended for teacher training.

Steven graduated teacher training in the summer of 2004. Since that time he has had the opportunity to work with many experienced yoga teachers in a variety of certified Bikram schools. "This journey (the practice of Hatha yoga) continues to be an integral force in my personal development." Steven brings great love and enthusiasm to his teaching and to the students of Bikram Yoga San Rafael. He is committed to teaching yoga the way it was taught to him: with energy, disipline and humor.
