Born and raised in Kennewick, WA, Jeannette followed her older sister's dance steps and vigorously studied ballet. In hopes to pursue a professional dance career out of high school, she deferred from California Polytechnic University San Luis Obispo to dance with Sacramento Ballet. After a year, it was apparent that the grueling ballerina lifestyle was too challenging to continue. She went back to school to study studio art. After a year of college parties without intense dancing and no exercise to compensate, her mind and body was in a disastrous state. She was spiraling into a major depression at top speed. Not until a dear friend/ dance peer/yognini recommended Bikram Yoga, had yoga been considered an alternative to ballet. The idea of yoga had seemed too gentle and too new age. After Jeannette's first hot yoga class, she was hooked. It reminded her of the sweltering summer dance camps at home when the studio was a mini inferno that lacked air conditioning. She always loved how the heat allowed for extra extension and flexibility. In addition, yoga was her first awakening that the mind cannot function properly without a healthy body for its home. After less than a year of a daily yoga practice, she deferred from Cal Poly again this time to attend the Fall 2003 Bikram Yoga Teacher training. Without financial means and a family with mediocre support that begged her to finish school first, she went to training and thrived. She preformed with a hand selected group in a demonstration at graduation. She has since completed her degree in art and has taught Bikram Yoga all over California, Washington, Nevada, and even overseas in Budapest, Hungary.
